WordPress 7.0 Has Been Released

The release of WordPress 7.0 has taken place, and developers are calling this update one of the most important and large-scale releases in recent years.

Main Innovation - Built-In AI

WordPress is now beginning to actively use artificial intelligence. There is no longer a need to install third-party plugins - everything is managed from a single place in the admin panel.

Examples of what the AI can do:

  • Generate and edit images
  • Create titles, descriptions, and alt text for images
  • Automate routine tasks
  • Work through a convenient command palette (opened with ⌘K or Ctrl+K)

Updated Dashboard

The administrative interface has become significantly more pleasant: a new color scheme, smooth transitions between screens, and a clean, modern design.

A dedicated page for font management has also been added - you can install, upload, and organize fonts regardless of the theme being used.

Revision history viewing has also been improved: you can now visually browse versions and instantly see what has changed.

New Blocks and Design Tools

Several new blocks have been added:

  • Gallery Slider - with the ability to open images in a lightbox
  • Icons - for page styling
  • Breadcrumbs - for easier navigation
  • Heading - with advanced customization settings

Website responsiveness has become more flexible: you can hide or display blocks depending on the device and apply different styles for different screen sizes.

It is now also possible to add custom CSS directly at the individual block level - right inside the post or page editor.

WordPress 7.0 can be downloaded for free from the official website wordpress.org.
